Trujillo, Honduras

We came ashore in tenders.  In our two trips on Holland America, we find that when they tender, or transfer guests to the shore in small boats, the port is small and ours is the only cruise ship present.

Flying the national flag of the Netherlands.

The weather was fine and we really enjoyed the warmth.
A long walk to ancient Trujillo

Our friend and guide, Carlito
Carlito earns money by guiding tourists to this place.

This place is owned by a Canadian, standing.
The Spaniards laid out a square or plaza surrounded by a church, government areas and commerce.
Fernando
We stopped along the way to speak with folks in Spanish.  This man was serving as a reserve policeman.  There was police presence everywhere.  Here he is having lunch by eating coconut straight from the shell.  He is also pastor of a church in the Trujillo area.
