Travel and Two Shows

We woke up in the nice surroundings of the Drury hotel in Overland Park, KS, and then had some breakfast.

Conversations are great as we get to know others on the tour.

You will notice the lady with the blue shirt often in the photos.  Here she is with Al's "cousin" and wife [in white].

Here is the "gang", ready to go.

Have had a few of the photos of a rest stop.  Just wanted to show the gasoline price for folks in Minnesota where it is a bit higher.

We stopped for lunch at Lambert's in Ozark, MO, just a bit north of Branson.  The served huge meals.  Good though!

Connie with a "fry pan" chicken fried steak.  This is the place of the "throwed rolls".

Bernie is displaying his big drumstick [and hand].

Here is Al and Sue on the left with my "identical cousin" Bob and wife Loretta.
See comments below about "identical cousins".
Our first theater, operated by a family with three generations involved with the musical theater, an adjoining motel and restaurant and a winter theater project in Arizona.

They served up humor with Benjamin's "identical cousin" Julio from "Espana".  He could play a tune on those horns attached by straps.

Outstanding musical performances.

A reading of the Luke 2 story.

A depiction of the Bethlehem story of the birth of Jesus.

The youngest Dutton making perhaps his first stage apperance during this Christmas season in Branson.  Look carefully, there is a tear in his eye.

After the giant meal at Lamberts, we had to eat at this Dutton restaurant.

Next was the Baldknobbers, a takeoff of a group of vigilantes that operated in these Ozark hills after the Civil War.

Hosting the show and providing jokes and stories was this performer with 32 years of experience in Branson.

Slapstick humor by these two guys.

Music of the season.

And a grand finale saluting the Christmas season.

  1. So nice to follow your trip. What's been happening lately? You've missed a big snowstorm and now biting cold up here. Every little thing seems so hard lately, like just opening the frozen car door. I heard that a storm was coming through down there too.
